At Christina Brown's #BrownGirlsLovePower day January 7, I found two great beauty/self-care buys created by Black female entrepreneurs.
beauty by Africa Miranda
The first product is a Facial Elixir from beauty by Africa Miranda. Africa is a model, spokesperson, and budding beautypreneur who just launched her own line of skincare products. The elixir is the first item in the line, inspired by the beauty of Brazil. It blends Maracuja Oil, Cupuacu Butter, and other skin-nourishing ingredients like vitamin E and can be used both as a moisturizing serum to give skin a natural glow or as a makeup remover. The two best things about the oil are it's lightweight, soothing texture and it's fresh scent.
The second product is a line of hand-poured, packed, and shipped natural soy wax candles created by Denequa Williams. I've purchased maybe five candles in my entire life but when I saw the gold packaging the LIT Brooklyn travel candles came in, I had to see what the product was about. And once I got a whiff of Joy -- a citrus and bergamot scented candle -- I immediately pulled out my credit card. All of LIT's candles are scented with fragrant oils and I found all of the scents, even the more masculine options, to be refreshing rather than overpowering. I love the light, natural scent the candle gives off when burning in my home.
